The Villagers went down to disappointing 2-0 defeat against promotion rivals Kendal Town. Away team captain Gl;en Steele rose unchallenged to head home in the 6th minutre. The best chances in the first half fell to the visitors as Ferriby struggled to find some rhythm
The Villagers had most of the possession in the 2nd half but were unable to convert any of the chances that they created. Kendal clinched the points in the 91st minute when Alex Taylor fired home off the far post. |

Tuesday 2 March 2010 Unibond League Premier Division Stocksbridge Park Steels 1 NFU 1
A resolute performance saw The Villagers gain a well-deserved point in their third consecutive draw.
The game was one of few chances and Steve Wilson was the busier of the two keepers, making some good saves.
Mark Whitehouse came closest for The Villagers, nearly scoring twice in the first ten minutes. However, it wasStocksbridge who eventually took the lead when Callery scored at the far post after 36 minutes.
Seven minutes later Ferriby were level through a Gary Bradshaw penalty awarded for a foul on Alex Davidson.
The second half saw promising moves from both sides spoiled through misplaced passes and goal scoring opportunities wer largely from a distance. |

Explosive Finale overshadows Villagers' fightback
For the second time in 5 days The Villagers had to come from two goals behind. Goals from Russell Fry and Alex Davidson saw Ferriby gain a hard-earned but fully deserved point. The match was overshadowed by a last minute melee involving players from each side following an altercation between Sam Denton and Hucknall's Deon Meikle. The outcome saw Denton and Paul Foot sent-off along with Meikle and Cashel Walters from Hucknall. It was a terribly disappointing end to what had been a reasonable ga.me of football between the promotion rivals. Ferriby Manager Neil allison said, "We looked dead and buried at 2-0 down and our response in the second half was fantastic, we showed good spirit and I’m pleased with a draw’ |

17.02.10

|
RAMPANT FERRIBY STUN LEADERS The Villagers stunned League leaders Bradford Park Avenue by overturning an early two goal deficit to win 4-2 and throw the title chase open.
In a fast and physical game Ferriby were two down in 13 minutes Alex Davidson reduced the lead immediately and in the 19th minute Gary Bradshaw hammered the equaliser.
Second half goals from Mark Whitehouse and a thumping header, no less, from Chris Bolder sealed a superb victory. The defence and midfield were magnificent in closing Bradford down and the pace of Bradshaw and Davidson up front troubled the visitors all through the game.
As Manager Neil Allison said afterwards, "We just got in their faces and were not intimidated by them."

26.01.10 Unibond League Challenge Cup 4th Round FC Halifax Town v NFU
Disappointingly, the Villagers lost a penalty shoot-out after the match finished 1-1 after extra-time. The first half was even but with limited opportunities for both sides. As the second half progressed NFU gradually took control but failed to convert any of a number of chances. Extra-time gollowed a similar pattern but Luke Richardson scored what appeared to be the winner for Halifax against the run of play in the 112th minute. However, a last minute free-kick from Sam Denton was fumbled by Senior and Paul Foot reacted quicly to hit the equaliser to set-up NFU's fourth penalty shoot-out of the season. Sadly, the Villagers went down 3-1.

The Homepage is now fully operational again after technical difficulties. Unfortunately, the error we encountered wiped all the previous posts.
We would like to hear your comments on the website, any ideas you may have for improvements or if there is anything that you would like to see added to the site, so please feel free to email us any suggestions media@northferribyunitedfc.co.uk
